Discovering the "R" of A.R.T. - Rapahel Sanzio

 

This painting is in the Vatican by painted by Raphael in the "Raphael room". It presents some of the most important aspects of the Renaissance painting. We can all see the perspective of  "The School of Athens" painting (fresco) which gives the impression of depth, as if the wall has got three dimensions. Another aspect is the fact that Renassaince is revisiting the ideals of the antiquity from a new point of view.  Raphael called this fresco "Causarum Cognito" meaning "Knowing the causes".
